the time I finished writing the scene, it was nearly midnight. Guru Dutt had agreed to sit down to eat with me, but he had not actually eaten anything. Since I was hungry, I ate heartily. In the sense that Guru Dutt was holding the cup of liquor in Leela's hand, it was not the case that he had fainted after drinking it. But his mood was definitely terrible. I wanted to read the code to them, but they were in no mood to listen. Actually I should have got a clue from that. (Abrar Alvi)
